“Collections in circulation: international conference” – Mobile Museum Project

“Collections in circulation” is an international conference led by the Mobile Museum Project, and will take place on Thursday 9th – Friday 10th May 2019 at the  Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew.

The conference will bring together a wide range of national and international scholars and museum professionals with a shared interest in the mobility of museum collections, past and present. A diverse range of presentations will address the circulation of objects and various associated aspects of history, and their re-mobilisation in the context of object exchange, educational projects and community engagement. As well as papers and extended discussions, there will also be optional tours of the Economic Botany Collection and Kew’s library & archives, and the event will be followed by a drinks reception in the Kew’s Shirley Sherwood Gallery alongside an exhibition by glass artist Chihuly.

To book a ticket for the conference, visit the conference Eventbrite page (discounted ticket prices are available for students). The conference programme provides further details of the scheduled speakers and topics. For further information about the Mobile Museum Project, check out their website.
