Internship Opportunity: Cultural Intern Scheme, West Midlands

Interested in working with collections, exhibitions and production within a heritage setting?

The Cultural Internship Scheme within the University of Birmingham provides an exciting graduate employment opportunity for a total of 10 paid work placements within various leading arts institutions within the West Midlands.

The work-based graduate placements, which last for 6 months, provide valuable opportunities to gain professional experience within leading cultural organisations, while also increasing skill-sets and employment prospects and gaining knowledge through training sessions and individual mentoring. Open to any graduate student from the University of Birmingham over the last 5 years with a 2:1 or first class Honours degree or postgraduate qualification, you will ideally also have some volunteering experience within the arts or cultural sector already, as well as clear communication skills and be passionate and ambitious about a career in the cultural sector. One internship is available within each of the cultural organisations at:

Birmingham Opera Company

Birmingham Repertory Theatre (The Rep)

City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra

Flatpack Projects (this placement will run October 2019 – May 2020)
