Museums Association Event: “Future of Museums: Curation”

An upcoming one-day conference from Museums Association, “Future of Museums: Curation” will take place at the Wellcome Collection in London on 25th March 2020.

The aim of the conference is to explore the changing nature of curation, and to discuss what future curators may look like or do as part of their role within the museum. This includes consideration of the modern museum and advances with digital technology, and how the role of the curator relates to modern artwork and objects being digitised. A number of speakers for the event will consider the different approaches to curating, how curators can stay relevant, and what museums can learn from those outside of the heritage sector.

While a timetable has not yet been finalised for the event, the day will run from approximately 9.30am – 4.30pm. Discounted rates are available for students, volunteers, and retired MA members, and there is also a Benevolent Fund available to provide 10 free places to this event for individuals who face barriers – further details about this can be found online.
