News: Launch of Midlands Art Papers Special Issue

An exciting Special Issue on Inclusion, Disability and Access in the Arts has recently been launched by Midlands Art Papers (MAP), a collaboration between the University of Birmingham’s History of Art Department and cultural practitioners from 13 partner museums and galleries across the Midlands.

Through this Special Issue MAP aims to foster dialogue and develop an understanding about how urgent issues such as accessibility, equality and diversity can be addressed within the arts sector. Through a variety of exhibitions, events and their dedicated online journal, MAP produces new research and works to showcase the curatorial, learning and inclusion work of its partner institutions.

This issue is now available online, and features two articles that explore visual impairment and sensory learning. Further articles on associated themes of inclusion and disability will be added to their site every month.
