Upcoming Event: ‘Trial by Fire’ conference, University of Liverpool

An upcoming interdisciplinary conference on the transformative power of fire will take place at the University of Liverpool on 2nd-3rd May 2020, and aims to bring together a number of methodological approaches to the investigation of fire including experimental archaeology, archaeomaterials, archaeobotany, anthracology, pyrotechnology and more.

Abstracts on a wide range of topics and case studies are encouraged, including whether fire can be considered an artefact, and how have people engaged with fire over the course of prehistory and history. This event will include a range of speakers as well as poster presentations, and is open to undergraduates, postgraduates as well as early career and independent researchers.
